Dr. Joel Brown serves as Director of the Creation Research Society’s Van Andel Creation Research Center, where he leads scientific research that points to a young, created Earth and glorifies the Creator. With a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Cornell University and years of experience in both research and education, Joel brings a depth of scientific knowledge along with a passion for helping others think clearly about origins. His teaching connects detailed biology with big-picture questions, equipping you to evaluate evidence through the lens of Scripture.
Alongside him is Bryce Brothers, a seasoned Canyon Ministries guide with years of experience leading tours and river trips through the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. Bryce has a gift for making geology understandable and engaging, helping you see the story written in the rocks while connecting it to the broader biblical account of Creation and the Flood.
Throughout the trip, Joel will guide you through the complexity and design of biological systems, while Bryce helps you interpret the landscape around you. Whether discussing ecosystems in the field, examining rock layers hands-on, or engaging in conversations along the way, you will gain a deeper understanding of how science and Scripture work together to describe the world we observe.
This 4-day Grand Canyon adventure is ideal for those who want more than a surface-level experience. It offers an opportunity to explore, learn, and engage with both biology and geology in a way that is thoughtful, grounded, and deeply connected to a biblical understanding of origins.
