Joining the trip is Patricia Engler, a writer and researcher with Answers in Genesis who is passionate about helping people see the connection between science and the authority of God’s Word. Patricia has written extensively on creation science, apologetics, and biblical worldview issues, communicating complex topics in a clear and engaging way that encourages believers to think deeply about their faith.
On the river, Patricia will share insights from her work in creation research, helping connect the incredible geology of the Grand Canyon with the broader biblical account of Creation and the Flood. Through evening teaching sessions and conversations along the river, she brings a thoughtful and approachable perspective that helps guests better understand how science and Scripture work together to tell a consistent story about our world.
Canyon Ministries Director of Ministry Outreach, Nate Loper, a seasoned Grand Canyon guide and creation speaker, will bring the canyon walls to life as he unpacks the spiritual message behind the massive rock layers and fossil-bearing formations from both a biblical and personal perspective. Drawing from years of guiding, teaching, and research in the canyon and around the world, he weaves together geological observation, Scripture, and story to help guests see these towering cliffs not just as scenery, but as a record of God’s power, judgment, and grace written in stone.
As the day gives way to night, Nate will then turn our attention from the depths of the canyon to the vastness of the heavens. Under some of the darkest skies in North America, he will lead evenings of stargazing and teach key highlights of creation astronomy, helping us identify the stars, planets, and constellations while reflecting on their order, beauty, and purpose—inviting us to consider anew what the heavens declare about the glory, majesty, and creative power of God.
Each day includes things like thrilling whitewater rapids, stunning hikes to hidden waterfalls and side canyons, and rich teaching sessions from Patricia and Nate. This trip is more than just a rafting experience—it’s a deep dive into the truth of Scripture written into the very rocks and rhythms of the canyon. Whether you’re a geology geek, an avid astronomer, or just someone eager to see the wonders of God’s creation from a biblical worldview, this journey will strengthen your faith and deepen your awe for the Creator.
Space is limited—and these trips fill quickly. Don’t miss your chance to raft, learn, and worship through the Grand Canyon with two trusted voices in biblical creation.
