Established in 1997, we have served for over 27 years providing tours and sharing God’s Word in the Southwest. We are looking for like-minded and passionate people to join our team.
ABOUT US
Canyon Ministries (also operating as A Different View Tours) is a Christian non-profit organization providing vehicle-based rim tours, hiking and walking tours, and multi-day backpacking and river trips in the Grand Canyon and American Southwest from a biblical creation perspective. We offer year-round daily tours of the South Rim, every day except Sunday.
Our trips and tours are rated 5-stars with Tripadvisor and are one of the top-rated activities for visitors to do at the Grand Canyon. That reputation is a direct reflection of the excellence of our guide and customer service team.
PART-TIME DAILY TOURS GUIDE
Join the growing team of guides providing daily tours on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Guides conduct 4 to 10-hour vehicle-based Rim Tours to various overlooks, 4-hour Walking Tours along the Rim Trail, or 5-6 Hiking Tours (if WFR certified) down the South Kaibab trail on a 3-mile loop. Part-time positions are available year-round, or seasonally from March through August.
- Status: Part-Time, 2-4 days per week, depending on tour demand. Tours are busy from March through October, and slower November through February.
- Pay Type: Paid per tour as an Independent Contractor
- Pay Amount: $200 to $300 per tour (depending on tour length) plus gratuities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AS QUALIFIED
- Lead tours of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in a 15-passenger van to various overlooks
- Lead Walking Tours along the Rim Trail
- Lead Hiking Tours into the Grand Canyon
- Interact with our guests with the grace and joy of Christ
- Provide guests with a thorough understanding of the history and geology of the Grand Canyon
- Share the biblical texts which help explain the events of Creation and the Flood
- When appropriate, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our guests
- Interact with National Park staff, park visitors, and others in a respectful and Christ-honoring manner
- Respect and abide by all Park Service regulations, state, and local laws
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School degree or equivalent
- Available to work Monday-Saturday as needed
- Walking Tour Guides: At least 18 years of age and able to drive to the park in your own vehicle for the tour
- Hiking Tour Guides: At least 18 years of age and possessing current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification
- Vehicle Rim Tour Guides: At least 25 years of age with a clean driving record (CDL not required)
- Must secure your own housing within 30 minutes of our Flagstaff office
- Must have the ability to work a varying and flexible schedule based on tour needs
FULL-TIME BACKPACKING & DAILY TOURS GUIDE
We are not currently hiring for this position, but you may fill out an interest form below that we can keep on file and reach out to you should something come available.
Become a full-time guide with Canyon Ministries at the Grand Canyon and other locations throughout the southwest. Lead daily South Rim tours, guided hikes, and multi-day backpacking adventures in the Grand Canyon and other locations in Utah.

- Pay Type: Salaried, paid bi-monthly
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead multi-day backpacking trips as needed
- Lead tours of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in a 15-passenger van to various overlooks
- Lead Walking Tours along the Rim Trail
- Lead Hiking Tours into the Grand Canyon
- Interact with our guests with the grace and joy of Christ
- Provide guests with a thorough understanding of the history and geology of the Grand Canyon
- Share the biblical texts which help explain the events of Creation and the Flood
- When appropriate, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our guests
- Interact with National Park staff, park visitors, and others in a respectful and Christ-honoring manner

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School degree or equivalent
- At least 25 years of age with a clean driving record (CDL not required)
- Able to obtain Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification
- Able to carry 65lb backpack for multiple days, crossing 25 miles with 6,000ft vertical gain at the Grand Canyon.
- Must secure your own housing within 30 minutes of our Flagstaff office
- Must have the ability to work a varying and flexible schedule based on tour needs
