Description
In Depth Geology 9-Day Grand Canyon River Trip
Embark on a 9-day expedition through the Grand Canyon, led by geologist Dr. John Whitmore and Canyon Ministries Executive Director Nate Loper. This trip offers a comprehensive study of creation, the Flood, and geological formations.
Covering the same 277 miles as our 7-day trips, the extended duration allows for a more relaxed pace and exploration of side canyons and hikes. As the first trip of the season, cooler temperatures enable us to undertake larger hikes to additional geological wonders.
For decades, John Whitmore has been Professor of Geology for Cedarville University as well as a geologist working with Answers In Genesis. With extensive experience on the Colorado River and all over the western United States, Dr. Whitmore is one of the world’s leading geologists studying the Coconino Sandstone. His research, featured in the film “Is Genesis History?: Mountains After the Flood,” provides valuable insights into the Grand Canyon’s sedimentary rock layers.
Nate Loper has led dozens of river trips through the Grand Canyon, and has spent around 1,000 days there in study and leading tours. Together, your guides will help give you a “rock solid” perspective of the Grand Canyon’s formation from a biblical worldview that will help make this the trip of a lifetime!
