Grand Canyon, Dinosaur Tracks, Native Ruins Tour
DWELLINGS, DINOSAURS, AND A DEEP CANYON!
BY REQUEST ONLY. REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 4 PEOPLE.
Starting at 8:00 AM in Flagstaff, we’ll set out for one of the world’s greatest natural wonders—the Grand Canyon’s South Rim, with stunning overlooks along Desert View Drive, where you’ll take in awe-inspiring views of the canyon’s vast depths and intricate rock formations. As we stop at some of the most spectacular viewpoints, your guide will share the story of the canyon’s formation through the lens of the biblical narrative of a global Flood, revealing the power and beauty of God’s creation.
Around midday, we’ll stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post, where you’ll enjoy delicious Southwestern and Navajo cuisine for lunch (cost not included). This iconic stop also provides an opportunity to browse Navajo and Hopi artwork, handcrafted jewelry, and unique souvenirs, as well as to take in the scenic beauty of the Little Colorado River Gorge nearby.
After lunch, we’ll travel into the Painted Desert to explore the Moenave Dinosaur Tracks near Tuba City. Led by a local guide from the Navajo Nation, you’ll walk among hundreds of preserved dinosaur footprints, getting a rare, hands-on experience. Unlike museum exhibits that keep fossils behind ropes, you’ll have the chance to place your hands inside the very footprints of these dinosaurs! We will provide insights into the formation of these tracks, presenting a perspective rooted in biblical Creation and the Flood, offering a fascinating look at how these footprints were formed, preserved, and re-exposed over time.
Next, we’ll journey to Wupatki National Monument, where towering pueblos built nearly 1,000 years ago tell the story of Native American communities that once thrived in this high desert landscape. As we explore these ancient structures—including rooms, a ball court, and unique architectural features—we’ll discuss significant events such as the Tower of Babel, the Ice Age, and the migration of people groups into the Americas. The sweeping desert views and well-preserved ruins provide an incredible glimpse into the past.
On our way back to Flagstaff, we’ll take a scenic drive through Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, where you’ll see lava fields and towering cinder cones that reveal the power of past volcanic eruptions. The stark contrast between the black volcanic rock and the vibrant desert landscape makes for a breathtaking finale to our journey.
We’ll return to Flagstaff by approximately 6:00 PM, wrapping up a full day of exploration, discovery, and biblical insights.
This full-day tour combines stunning landscapes, engaging storytelling, and insightful teaching, all designed to connect history, geology, and Scripture in a meaningful way. With water, snacks, and blankets provided for your comfort, this adventure offers an unforgettable journey through Arizona’s incredible natural and cultural treasures.
