Dr. John Whitmore brings decades of expertise as Professor of Geology at Cedarville University and a geologist affiliated with Answers in Genesis. He has led numerous research trips through the Grand Canyon and the broader western United States, contributing significant work in the field of Flood geology. His detailed studies on the Coconino Sandstone, one of the canyon’s most prominent rock layers, challenge the conventional interpretation of desert dune deposition and instead point to rapid underwater processes consistent with the biblical account of the global Flood. His work has been prominently featured in the documentary Is Genesis History?: Mountains After the Flood, and on this trip, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from him directly in the very environment that shaped his research.
Adam Huff, with years of experience leading Grand Canyon river and backpacking trips, brings strong leadership and practical knowledge to the team. He’ll guide you through fascinating hikes into side canyons, explain the significance of the features you’re seeing, and help you connect the grandeur of the canyon with the reliability of Scripture. His engaging style and field experience ensure that every participant—regardless of age or background—can understand and appreciate the geological story from a biblical perspective.
Expect meaningful teaching, unforgettable hikes, and thrilling rapids—all set within the majestic beauty of God’s creation. Each day will be filled with opportunities for hands-on exploration, thoughtful discussion, and worship beneath the canyon’s towering cliffs. If you’ve ever wanted to go beyond the surface of Grand Canyon and dig deep into the geology that confirms God’s Word, this is the trip for you.
