“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
God has faithfully directed our path to be a strong voice for Him at Grand Canyon. Thinking back through the events of 2017 extraordinarily points to the significance of God’s goodness and the impact of the community of the saints. Each day we seek to bring glory to God and impact the people around us. Yet, upon the close of the day, we often discover God actually blessed us and we were the ones impacted more by the wonderful people around us. Truly, blessing others is an exercise in boomerang throwing.
One quick example took place just the other day. I made one final stop during a morning tour. A family consisting of grandma, dad, and daughter were on the tour. The daughter stepped off the bus and began to speak in fluent German to a family enjoying the Grand Canyon. The Dad then stepped off and joined the conversation in equally fluent German. The daughter came back aboard the bus and explained their family’s German background.
As she was speaking, I became wonderfully aware the dad was sharing the message of Grand Canyon and the gospel with this family in German. The dad stepped back on the bus and confirmed he had indeed just shared the new information he had learned about Grand Canyon and the redemptive message it proclaims. He accomplished something with that German family I could not have done. We celebrated together!
This Romans passage speaks directly to the incredible impact Canyon Ministries had in 2017. God is the God of endurance and encouragement. We could never have sustained the effort necessary without the power of the Holy Spirit. Also, it is our steady pursuit to facilitate the opportunity for the community of Saints to glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one voice! Shout it with us in 2018!
