“The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.” Psalm 34:22
Redeemed
- to buy or pay off; clear by payment
- to recover by payment or other satisfaction
- to obtain the release or restoration of, as from captivity, by paying a ransom
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Revelation 5:9-10
“Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like a lamb without blemish or spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19
The fossil graveyard of Grand Canyon proclaims the judgment of God. Yet, the story of redemption is prevalent as well. Grand Canyon possesses extreme beauty. It never gets tiresome to gaze upon the exposed rock layers and abundant flora and fauna. This is a direct design of God’s mercy and redemptive heart. He could have left the land barren and ugly – a wasteland. But He did not. He has given us a growing season, lush vegetation, magnificent landscape, and a promise. God’s love compelled Him to reveal His nature to us through His creation. As we read the landscape of the earth, we read the very heart of God. A portion of what we discover there is that God redeems. God loves you and will redeem your life from whatever pit you may have found yourself in. There is no valley so deep and dark that God cannot get to you. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
A trip to Grand Canyon can be a great reminder of the new life we have in Christ. Be blessed today!
