Fall Colors
Fall is synonymous with crisp air, mild temperatures, vibrant colors, alluring aromas, and change (and football…just saying). Leaves that once melded into the landscape now stand apart vibrantly, dazzling the eyes with color. The wind enriches the display by causing the leaves to dance, generating a 3D image of pigment and action. The fresh air and fall aroma contribute a 4th dimension to complete the experience.
The fall landscape is transformed from a blur of green hues to a tapestry of brilliant color. God’s creation is shouting a reminder of our need to be transformed as well. We are not to blend into the manners of our culture, but stand out as stars among the universe.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
“that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:15
God is a transforming God, redeeming God, and rescuing God!
“He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14
There are mysteries of exquisite detail held within Grand Canyon that we may never discover. However, one mystery has been revealed: The beauty of Grand Canyon proclaims the nature of God as one who redeems that which was destroyed and renews that which was lost. Just as all the earth is transformed each fall, so too we are called to a transformed and renewed life.
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not the things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4
