His Bride

IMG_0442

Take a good look at this picture.  You’ll have to observe closely and perceive deeply to see the true beauty this picture presents.  It’s not the rocks, the water (that’s the chocolate milk looking stuff), or the colors.  Clearly this is a glamour shot (80’s reference) of the Bride of Christ!

“For by the grace given me, I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.  Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:3-5

One of the great excursions available on the 4-day river trip is the Travertine Grotto.  This hidden grotto holds within its confines a pristine, spring-fed waterfall tumbling through redeposited lime known as travertine.  This magnificent beauty is a favorite of each and every river adventurer. However, getting into the grotto is a bit intimidating.  It begins with a fairly slick scramble up metamorphic rock laced with quartzite.  This is followed by two rock face climbs with the aides of ropes.  The final challenge is an eight foot rope ladder ascending into the grotto itself.  The effort given is met ten-fold by the prize held within.

You’ll notice that this picture has some diversity to it.  There are certainly some strong, strapping young lads.  But there are also some with a bit more experience in their bones and muscles.  We had people with heart bypass, people in there 70’s, one in the 80’s, people with arthritis, people with bad knees, and squeamish people.  Regardless, all would get there with patience and servant hearts.  One-by-one every single person made it through every challenge and clamored to the top.  The humility of accepting help and the willingness to serve overcame all fear and physical limitations.  The grotto shook with thunderous applause and shouts of celebration as each person found their feet up top.  And after a safe return, we once again celebrated the great bond and love we had for one another with shouts of joy.  Only days before these 32 people were complete strangers. Not any more!

Now’s the time to plan your 2015 river adventure with us and experience the body of Christ in a GRAND way!

“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting, ‘Hallelujiah! For our Lord, God Almighty reigns.  Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!  For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.'”Revelation 19:6-7

Praiseallujiah!
