Cedar Falls Bible Conference with Reasons for Hope Bus

Cedar Falls Bible Conference

I recently had the opportunity to speak at the 100-year anniversary of the Cedar Falls Bible Conference in Iowa. This 8-day event featured a separate youth track, designed for students eager to learn about biblical and creation apologetics, while also growing in their walk with Christ.

I was thrilled to speak alongside my good friend Dave Glander. Dave and I first met on our Christian Leader’s Trip (CLT) through the Grand Canyon 10 years ago. We hit it off right away and have stayed in touch ever since. Dave recently joined Reasons for Hope, the organization founded by our long-time friend and fellow ministry partner, Carl Kerby. Many of you have had the privilege of rafting the canyon with Carl—he’s always such a blessing to us!

Alongside Dave, we were also joined by Brian Scoggin, the long-time drummer for Casting Crowns, who recently stepped down from the band to pursue pastoring and other ministry opportunities. I greatly enjoyed the camaraderie and conversations that developed between the three of us as we discussed family, ministry, and how to live the best life in Christ as husbands and fathers.

Throughout the conference, more than 50 students attended three different talks each day. These weren’t your typical teenagers. No, they were highly intelligent, highly interested, and highly engaged with everything we presented. As a student ministries pastor for 12 years, I can confidently say this group was far from the average set of junior high and high schoolers! They were eager to learn and asked fantastic questions during every session.

In addition to sharing about the Flood and the GRAND Canyon, we also explored topics like creation astronomy, origins, and the authority of God’s Word. Beyond apologetics, we gave the students fresh insight into their own significance to God and the immense love He has for them. I truly believe the connections we made with these students were life-changing.

If you’re ever looking for a speaker for your church or group to speak at a service, seminar, camp, or conference, let us know! We’re ready and able to speak nationwide and be a voice in the wilderness wherever God calls!

For the King!
