NEXT UP: Our 2020 Vision

The Grand Canyon is one of the natural wonders of the world.  If we don’t give it a voice for God, who will?” – Monte Albert at age 13

Proclaiming the wonders of God is a privilege, but it is also an expectation.  If God’s people will not proclaim His wonders, no one will! Our world is desperate for hope.  However, many choose to place their trust in themselves or temporary, earthly things.  There is no hope found there.  Hope is the direct product of trusting God and His Word.

Remembering the wonders of God anchors our trust in Him and solidifies our hope.  Your children and grandchildren need to hear the wonders of God and understand the accounts of Scripture as true, historical events.  Together, let’s be certain they know.

Judges 2:10-11 (ESV)
And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work he had done for Israel. And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals.”

The nation of Israel came off the rails of righteousness because the wonders of God did not get passed down from one generation to the next.  The hope of the world is not found in politics, medicine, or social action.  The hope of the world is found in Jesus, the redeemer of the earth, the only one to defeat sin and death.  Our chief action as followers of Christ is to remember and proclaim the wonders of God.  Listen to what Psalm 78:4-7 (ESV) says.

“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”

The testimony of the Grand Canyon is ideal for obeying our mandate.  In light of that we are launching the “Next Up” campaign as a means to honor the generation ahead of us and call out the generation behind us.

We will be providing resources and activities dedicated to this call.  There is a generation desperate for hope!  Will you join us in helping them anchor themselves to the hope of Jesus?

You can join us in the following ways:

  1. Bring your family on a Canyon Ministries adventure
  2. Pray for us and with us
