The Expansion of our CLT Vision
Since 2008, Canyon Ministries has labored to multiply our Kingdom impact by training and serving ministry leaders through an annual river trip program we call the Christian Leaders Trip (CLT). God has graced us with the opportunity to be a life-changing resource for college and seminary professors, pastors, missionaries, and organizational leaders who, in turn, can train and equip others for the work of ministry.
Through the CLT, we have shared the canyon with over 280 Christian leaders from 28 nations, representing over 130 different educational institutions, ministry organizations, and churches.
These participants didn’t simply enjoy a nice Grand Canyon vacation. They received rigorous biblical, scientific, and devotional teaching that they could carry back with them into the trenches and use to train and equip others. Many of our CLT guests went on to:
• Create new university/seminary-level courses
• Modify and expand their existing class curricula
• Publish books and academic articles on Creation
• Teach seminars in local churches
• Plan Grand Canyon creation trips for their students
• Change their own views to come more in line with Scripture
Most famously, after participating in the CLT, Del Tacket (creator of “The Truth Project”) went on to become the face of the “Is Genesis History?” documentary series, now one of the most prominent voices for a biblical view of creation and the Flood.
As we look back on a decade and a half of this strategic effort to serve the body of Christ, there is so much to celebrate, and as we look ahead to the future, we see opportunities to do even more!
When we equip a teacher, we’re also equipping the countless students who will pass through their classroom for years to come. When we pour into a pastor, we help him pour into the next generation in his community. The impact is exponential!
