Dr. Terry Mortensen is a rich blessing to the Kingdom and to Canyon Ministries. Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 1:8; 6:13; 2 Corinthians 1:21; Galatians 5:1; Philippians 1:27; and 1 Thessalonians all speak of standing firm and contending for the faith. This is a great description of Terry. He contends for the faith around the globe. He stands firm and proclaims the gospel with passion and heart.
Terry serves through Canyon Ministries as a member of the Christian Leaders Trip leadership team and as an associate board member. Terry shared these things with me in a recent email.
What verse or passage is God currently impressing upon your heart and how is it making an impact?
I¹ve been reading lately in Deuteronomy in my devotions. I am
impressed once again about the importance of obeying and trusting God¹s
Word in every area of life. It will honor God, who is worthy, and it will
result in blessing in my life, family and ministry. God deserves my best
in effort and in faith for His glory.
Why do you participate in Canyon Ministries?
I am involved with Canyon Ministries because it is a strategic way to
influence the church. So many Christians and especially Christian leaders
and scholars are duped into thinking that the secular geologists have
proved that the earth is millions of years old and that Gen. 1-11 is not
reliable literal history. CM trips through the canyon with excellent
teaching allows people to see some of the overwhelming geological and
fossil evidence in the Canyon that blows that thinking out of the water.
And it is a great place to worship our great Creator and have a lot of fun.
Why should others go on a river or rim tour with Canyon Ministries?
Seeing the Grand Canyon from the top or up close from the bottom is an
incredible opportunity. And CM is the only way to do it without having to
endure the evolutionary story-telling that most of the millions of
tourists get. It will strengthen your faith in God¹s Word and if you go
with family or friends build a precious life memory.
“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.” Philippians 1:27
